Current projects

These are some of our current projects.

We are building and supporting small-scale kitchen gardens that can help feed a community, school, children's home or hospital. The vegetables produced improve people's diet. The growing methods show communities how they can 'grow-their own'.

Watoto orphanage

An orphanage that not only takes care of vulnerable boys and girls, but also helps feed over 5000 children in neighbouring schools.

Matajiro Womens Group

A resourceful community of single women growing vegetables to support themselves and helap their neighbours learn about nutrition.

Macheo Children's Home

Macheo Children's Home is both an orphanage and an outreach programme that feeds several thousand children in impoverished areas near Thika.

Thika District Hospital

A public health initiative that recognises the role of community-grown vegetables in improved health.

Joytown Special School for Disabled

Joytown School is where over 200 physically disabled children from all over Kenya live and learn. Year-round fresh vegetables can now be grown in their own grounds.
